"I enjoy following the plan and it's great to go to the workshops where you can meet other members who you have got to know online.  I have lost over 4 stone following PCTV - it's such a different and refreshing approach to weight loss."
Ruth Alexander

"What makes PCTV and specifically being on the blogs extra special is that you soon become part of our family, we're all together pulling in the same direction and we are accepted and feel free to be ourselves with our ups and downs. Once we're helping other people we're also realising our own abilities to help ourselves - what could be better and I have lost 6 stone"
Annie Garcia

"I joined the programme back in June after being bowled over by Pete and his amazing system, it has worked for me where 40 odd years of conventional dieting hasnt, in just over 3 months i am 3 stone plus lighter, i am walking unaided where before i needed a stick, i was virtually housebound and now i go out every day, its completely lifechanging and the best thing is I haven't once felt hungry or deprived."
Sue Hedges

"PCTV has changed my entire view on getting slimmer, fitter, healthier and happier. Ten months on, I'm still on the programme and still losing weight. I have never managed this before- usually I'm "good" for a few weeks then fall off the wagon and give up. Then as the next big thing in my life approaches I try to "diet" again. I've now broken this cycle thanks to Pete and all the wonderful people on the Weightloss Journals Blog. Since starting PCTV on Jan 1st 2008 I have lost 2st 10lbs. I attended Pete's weight loss event in London on Oct 11th and it was an elightening and motivational day."

Thanks so much ladies! It was great to see you all again at the event. Keep it up you're all doing so incredibly well!

It has been such a pleasure to work with them as they where really up for it. The real challenge starts now as they return to the real world. We will keep in touch with them and support them as best as we can. GMTV plan for us to go back and see them in May so watch this space.

It has also been fab working with personal trainer Mark Anthony and Nutritionist, Amanda Hamilton. We have formed a great team and plan to work together to inspire people to lose weight, get fit, increase their energy and live the dream. We are planning to do a workshop together in London in May. I will keep you all informed.

Thanks for all your support this week

Inch Loss Island - Karate-stylee

It’s the fourth day of Inch Loss and what a great time we’ve had. I am sure our three girls have lost weight and inches. They look great, their fitness levels have gone through the roof, and the day detox they did has given them a whole load of energy. The session they did with Anton De Beke was so funny but not as funny as getting me to do the dance with them live on GMTV yesterday. I just hope no one saw me as I was trying to hide at the back.

Yesterday saw me do some dynamic karate style board breaking on GMTV. I then got our three recruits to have a go but only Kazza was able to break it. Gail and Karen failed but their determination was great and after the show they had another go where they succeeded. This was filmed and will be shown live on GMTV today. It was all a good exercise for them because just like in the real world; we don’t always get results when we try things for the first time.

Many peoples attitudes affect the results they get and all too often when people fail at something, they give up. I believe the exercise will benefit our ladies because when they return to the real world I am sure there will be days when things don’t work out and they feel like giving up.  I think our ladies won’t because they know that in order to win, you need to learn to get comfortable with making mistakes as success is on the other side failure.

Amanda Hamilton, Mark Anthony and myself have become great friends and love working together so much so that we have decided to run some events together in the future to inspire people to lose weight and improve their health.  Watch this space and I will let you know where and when these events will take place as you might like to attend.

Take care everybody

Shut The Duck Up!

Have you heard of the phrase “We are what we eat”?  Of course you have.... Well there’s another phrase that’s just as true - ”We are what we think”.  In fact, when all is said and done, the quality of our life really does come down to how we communicate to ourselves.  You know that little voice inside your head that says “go on eat that chocolate”.   Do you ever say anything like “go on have another helping, no one’s looking” or “it doesn’t matter you’ve blown it already” or “you’re stupid you won’t achieve anything”?   What sort of a voice do you have going on inside your head?

Let me ask you a question, what do you think stops us from being more positive?  I think there's 2 reasons.  Firstly, being negative and giving ourselves a hard time is something we’ve practised - and like anything we practise doing long enough - we become good at it, and we generally just keep on doing it. Now, the other reason is that we don't like being different to the crowd - being negative stops us from standing out. Positive people tend to take action and get on with life... they stand out as being different... being different can feel a bit uncomfortable at first... and who wants to feel uncomfortable ?

Shut The Duck Up!

And so let me ask you another question.  If I was to step inside your head for a day would I come out at the end of the day going “WOW THAT WAS FANTASTIC” or would I come out going “OH THAT WAS REALLY REALLY HARD WORK”?  You see for many people that voice going off inside their heads is actually like a never ending duck quacking inside their head all day long. Now whilst we don’t actually have a duck quacking inside our heads whether you’ve realised it or not as I’m talk to you right now you’re probably talking to yourself either agreeing or disagreeing with what I’m saying.  And the fact is a lot of what we say in our head is not always positive and so what I want you to do is when you start to give yourself a hard time imagine it is like a duck quacking in your head quacking away giving yourself a hard time and just tell that duck to shut up.

Shut the duck up!

... and start to be more positive about what you’re doing.    Spend some time now answering the following questions and then, for the rest of this week, pay special attention to how you talk to yourself, listen to it, and be curious as to how you talk to yourself.

  • How do you talk to yourself if you get things wrong?  What words and tone do you use?
  • Do you treat yourself as well as you would treat your best friend? If not, what do you do differently?
  • What sort of messages of encouragement do you give yourself?

You see the people who have successfully become slimmer have stopped battling with themselves. They’ve learned to be kinder and more accepting of themselves and their mistakes. Now they changed and so can you.    The most important thing to remember is that you get what you focus on. So focus on feeling good for no reason at all.  Look for the positive things that you’re doing and give yourself some credit and you will achieve more.

Have a great day! Quack!

Pete.
