Inch Loss Island - Inches Lost

Well it’s Friday and Inch Loss Island has come to an end. Our recruits have done so well, not only losing weight but also loads of inches!

Gail
Lost 8 pounds
Lost a total of 15½ inches
On her hips she was 53 inches - now 49 inches
She’s gone down three dress sizes

Kaz
Lost 9 pounds
Lost a total of 14½ inches
On her waist she was 54 and is now 49 inches
She's gone down nearly 3 dress sizes

Karen
Lost 10 pounds
Lost 13½ inches
She lost 4 inches off her chest
She has gone down 2 dress sizes

It has been such a pleasure to work with them as they where really up for it. The real challenge starts now as they return to the real world. We will keep in touch with them and support them as best as we can. GMTV plan for us to go back and see them in May so watch this space.

It has also been fab working with personal trainer Mark Anthony and Nutritionist, Amanda Hamilton. We have formed a great team and plan to work together to inspire people to lose weight, get fit, increase their energy and live the dream. We are planning to do a workshop together in London in May. I will keep you all informed.

Thanks for all your support this week

Inch Loss Island - Karate-stylee

It’s the fourth day of Inch Loss and what a great time we’ve had. I am sure our three girls have lost weight and inches. They look great, their fitness levels have gone through the roof, and the day detox they did has given them a whole load of energy. The session they did with Anton De Beke was so funny but not as funny as getting me to do the dance with them live on GMTV yesterday. I just hope no one saw me as I was trying to hide at the back.

Yesterday saw me do some dynamic karate style board breaking on GMTV. I then got our three recruits to have a go but only Kazza was able to break it. Gail and Karen failed but their determination was great and after the show they had another go where they succeeded. This was filmed and will be shown live on GMTV today. It was all a good exercise for them because just like in the real world; we don’t always get results when we try things for the first time.

Many peoples attitudes affect the results they get and all too often when people fail at something, they give up. I believe the exercise will benefit our ladies because when they return to the real world I am sure there will be days when things don’t work out and they feel like giving up.  I think our ladies won’t because they know that in order to win, you need to learn to get comfortable with making mistakes as success is on the other side failure.

Amanda Hamilton, Mark Anthony and myself have become great friends and love working together so much so that we have decided to run some events together in the future to inspire people to lose weight and improve their health.  Watch this space and I will let you know where and when these events will take place as you might like to attend.

Take care everybody

Inch Loss Island - Strictly Come Detox

Well, it’s day 2 and our recruits haven’t had a moment to themselves as, once again, they were woken up at 5am for an early morning workout.

They appear to be doing well - but they are being tested. Today, they are going through a detox; only having fruit juices and some vegetable broth. Rather them then me! But it’s not a bad thing, as their bodies will benefit from not having to deal with some of the foods they're accustomed to eating.

They are in for a surprise this afternoon as Anton Du Beke, who was Kate Garraway’s dancing partner in Strictly Come Dancing is here to teach our recruits how to ballroom dance. They don’t know how lucky they are!

Is it just me, or does Karen look like she's enjoying this?

Until Tomorrow,
Take care, Pete

Inch Loss Island - How fit is Amanda?

It’s only day one and already emotions have run high. First off we had technical problems today that stopped us showing any of Inch Loss live. But, what can you do? Technology never works perfectly... all we can do is hope that tomorrow runs more smoothly.

Our recruits were woken up at 5 this morning for a fitness session, it’s now 6pm and they're sooo tired, but still smiling. Karen from Scotland has been really upset today as she finally accepted what she has done to herself over the years. I had a heart-to-heart with her and she got pretty upset. I know though, that this is a good thing, because she's facing up to herself and allowing the stored negative emotions to come out.

They are great girls and I am sure they will do really well.

The experts have been working-out together... we have just finished a run around the island. How fit are Doctor Hilary and Amanda Hamilton? I tell you - VERY FIT!

Until tomorrow, Take care. Pete

Inch Loss Island - The Last Supper

Hi, quick one as I'm in a rush... Inch Loss has begun! We left London this morning at 7 in a bus with our three inch loss recruit girls:

Our two Karens and Gail; Karen Benford on the left, Gail Maycroft and Karen Parker on the right.

It's weird being back here as it's been five years since my last Inch Loss. One of my greatest TV moments was a live fire walk that our recruits did. You can see this on my show-reel, it was a whole load of fun!

I am in the most beautiful room looking over the sea as our Inch Loss recruits are having their last supper - so to speak - as it's their last opportunity to  eat whatever they want before the Inch Loss Regime starts tomorrow.

Any way I better go as I've got a meeting with my fellow experts, Mark Anthony, personal trainer to the stars, Amanda Hamilton the gorgeous nutritionist from bonny Scotland and the TV legend that is Doctor Hilary Jones.

Take care and watch this space.

Island Life

Hi there and how goes it? I've been a busy bee again as I've been involved in the auditioning of our new recruits for GMTV's Inch Loss Island that will be hitting your screens in January.   We saw people from all over the country who desperately want to lose weight and get fit.  We whittled it down to four of the best who will be joining us on the island for a fun-packed, action-filled and emotional week.  As yet, they still do not know the location of the island.

Check out the photo of our new Inch Loss Island team. Kate Garaway will be presenting with experts Dr. Hilary, Amanda, Mark and myself. Here's a bigger one.

Now, I've been thinking a bit since the fire... so, let me start off by asking you a question, (I do this a lot)

Do you believe that every cloud has a silver lining?

Well I do. And, I think it's possible to find a way of taking something positive from difficult or challenging experiences.  Take my house burning down for example. I'm now living in a flat at a golf club, and guess what? I love golf! I only have to walk downstairs and I can play. I think it's important to realise that we can choose how we feel and it's also possible to make the most out of most situations in life.

A while back I asked you to imagine stepping out of your front door without having a clue where you wanted to go... (don't forget to turn the cooker off if you actually do this :) !) Anyway, if you'll recall it was about The Importance Of Setting Goals.

When you do set goals, you have to be careful not to become too obsessed. Not many of us have a 100% hit rate so there may be times when you set a goal and you end up making a mistake, or your goal doesn't really work. It's not The End Of The World. At this point you have a choice: you can get all flustered, beat yourself up and go back to wandering about without direction - or you can learn from the experience and move on.

The key thing to consider when you set goals is to clarify why you want something. Chances are, if you set goals about things that you need in your life or, things that will benefit you and others, you'll feel happy when you achieve them. But if you set goals just because you think you should or to please other people, you may not feel that great - even when you've achieved what you set out to do. Think about this especially if you're prone to New Year's resolutions.

You have to ask yourself 'What's in it for me?' and 'What will happen if I don't manage to do this?' Whatever goals you set, you have to demand more of yourself to push your performance, and you have to realise that we are all more capable than we think we are. Your ability to achieve is immeasurable - and it can be easier to get what you want than you think.

Take good care. Pete.
