Member of the Month

Our member of the month is Cherry
She has achieved so much and not only lost weight but has come a long way to overcome the eating orders that plagued her life for over 15 years.
In the pod-cast below I interview Cherry about her experiences and what she has achieved.
Please feel free to make any comments and I will pass them onto to Cherry.

You have overcome so much and now sound totally happyand at peace with yourself and your body.
I am totally in awe of what you have achieved. You are real inspiration to others on Pete's Programme - including me.
Thank you for sharing your journey
Maureen
Thank you all
I am honoured to know you all & made great friends
I hope I can inspire some of you to keep going - I wish I had dealt with past stresses in a better way
Now I know how to deal with the future
That first picture I was 14stone - 1 after my mum died. I was soo low & fed up with having no energy, living on takaways.
I am 10 stone 5 - so much happier, yes I am still overweight for my height
But for the first time in my life I dont care what the scales say
I go on how my clothes feel
My blood pressure is finally normal, relaxation actually works - who knew!
It has helped me deal with all the underlying issues that have affected me & I never felt I worth worth being kind to myself
I really feel anyone can loose weight, but you have to be happy with yourself to keep it off
Be kind to yourself, we only get the one body.
It is never too late to start being kind to yourself
We all have stressful lives, pete can help us deal with them
THANK YOU
Cherry

Congratulations on being Member of The Month! So well deserved. You have always been an inspiration to me but more so at the moment as I am going through a bad time with bulimia. I have started counselling again which hopefully will help. If you can beat this, so can I. xox
I hope you are able to control the bulimia soon.
For me the counselling just made me worst, it brought all the old feelings back
CBT is good, if your counseller does that
Now I feel the past in the past, I cant change the damage I have done to my body, I can make sure I dont damage it anymore
Now I am able to deal with stress in a differant way, rather than doing what I have always done in the past panic & binge, then starve
Did it help me deal with a problem, no. My mum died, did it bring her back that I made myself soo ill, no
It meant I spent more time getting better than grieving
I knew no differant thats how I dealt with things
We are all here to support you
I enjoyed the podcast and it's great to hear speak so openly about this which will help and inspire others.
It's interesting what you say about counselling. Although I'm very much for it where it's needed, I personally don't find revisiting the past myself helpful and I have found it much more powerful just to make that commitment to wanting to change and let the past go with acceptance and just learn from it. We cannot change the past, but we can change today and our future.
Congratulations on being member of the month.

Hugs and major congratulations from me... xx
This is a real testimony to your strength of character sweetie. I found this podcast and indeed your life story fascinating. My understanding is that when you were in the real bout of your eating disorder you were only really concerned about what others thought about you, rather than giving yourself inner self belief and acceptance. Damm those bullies, but you have slayed those "demons" now and can hold your head up high. Working through Pete's programme has also shown me realistic expectations, and the most important one being kind to oneself and not beat oneself up. You have conquered so much, and its a real pleasure having you as a friend. CBT is good, but friends better :)
Thank you for such an honest and frank podcast. Your mum is looking down proud of you. You are a Superstar XXX

Congratulations on becoming Member of the Month.
I found your interview very inspirational and thought provoking. (I did in fact write a long winded comment but it has just got lost in the ether - probably best for all concerned).
Take care.

Congratulations on achieving so much! - it's wonderful to see you improve as the weeks go by. It's one thing losing weight, but overcoming these eating disorders is another ball game altogether and it's so good to hear how this course has done it for you as it has for so many of us.
As Sally said, your mum would be mighty proud of you.
Well done petal!
