Lorraine Kelly's Gravatar I have just listened to your pod and am very impressed
As an ex Weight Watchers leader of some ten years , I agreed with a lot of what you said
I have struggled with my weight ( some excess six stone ) for several years now and am finding it hard to shift
I do not want to get obsessed with it all again and found that you coverage of this helped me to think straight

I agree with what you also said about not weighing each day ( I am guilty of this but no more scales will get hidden ) also of not forbidding yourself of foods that can lead to over indulgence

I am now going to go and look at the programme and see what it is all about
Well done to both of you for inspiring me again to deal with my weight

Janeo's Gravatar Hi Pete, Wow what a fab podcast, I really enjoyed listening to it and it has inspired me. I came across a saying yesterday that I thought would be appropriate here.

'Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time that we fall'

Confucius

Thanks Pete! :0)

Cathy's Gravatar Hi Pete
Thanks for such an eye opening chat. I am on your programme but am really struggling to keep momentum. I recognised so much of myself in what you said regarding how most of us look at diets as deprivation and how we cannot wait for them to end so we can get back to our normal eating habits.

I loved the idea that even little changes make a difference and that we do not have to get it right every day to still make positive changes in our lives.

Listening to the podcast has helped me regain some pospective in how to approach the changes I want to make to improve my fitness and health.

Thanks for reminding me that to struggle and fail occasionally can be a positive step and that I do not have to give up because I have gone wrong along my journey.

I am going to dust myself off and make an effort not to be so harsh with myself and do my best to make healthier choices both mentally and nutritionally.

Sue's Gravatar Brilliant pod cast Pete and Colin,
If i had a pound for everytime I have lost weight for a holiday, wedding, special occassion, only to put it all back on again and more besides, i would be able to retire very comfortably!!!
I have spent 45 years looking for THE DIET....... and there isnt one, its totally changing thinking and working towards gaining health, mobility ( in my case) and generally getting fitter !!
Thankyou both very much

Katfrin's Gravatar Pete - this is a fab podcast.. Theres so much here that makes perfect sense but rocks the current paradigm about weight loss until it crumbles.
I was particularly interested in what you both said you'd experienced with clients who were stressed finding it difficult to lose weight as I think it's where I've been recently. I find endocrinology fascinating these days! Did you know that 80-90% of Serotonin is in the intestines - so you can start to see how you feel is already interconnected with what and how you eat.
