Burning Down The House
You'll never guess what happened to me? My house burnt down. Ok, well maybe not 'burnt down', but I came back from filming the launch of GMTV's Inch loss island to find the inside of my house had gone up in smoke. It's really made me stand back and think to myself how lucky I am to be alive. If it had started with me in the house then I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here any more.
Please send donations to... No never mind - I've got insurance!... marvelous stuff this insurance. It's amazing that there was this fire - in my house - and no-one noticed, it went out of it's own accord when it became starved of oxygen.
The fact is, pretty much everything that was in the house can be replaced. It's actually quite humbling to only have the clothes on your back for a little while. It's made me realise just how much stuff I have that I don't actually need. This is the same for many people and their relationship with food as so many of us eat more than we need. Take some time to have a look around your home and see just how much stuff you have that you don't need or use.
See if you can apply this thinking when you eat and try only eating to the point were you've had enough. Don't eat any more than you need - this behaviour ends up with us carrying around more weight than we need!
So, my golf clubs weren't damaged, and now I'm living in a golf club... so every cloud has a silver lining!
Shame about the bloody weather :)
